Paddle with us throughout the islands of Canada's beautiful West Coast, camping along the way.  We may visit secluded coves and beaches, ancient native settlements and maybe even meet a whale or two in our travels.  We have many favorite places to paddle to, but if you have a destination in mind, we'd be happy to customize a tour to cater to you and your group.

What's Included:  Overnight trips are priced to include all paddling gear, campground fees and 2 to 3 meals per day.  You will be responsible for your own camping gear (eg: tent and sleeping bag etc) and snacks.

Bring Your Own Boat:  We offer discounts to paddlers bringing their own paddling gear on our overnight trips.  If you have all of your own paddling gear, and your boat is suitable for an overnight trip, you may qualify for a reduced rate on your trip, please ask our staff for further details.

Gulf Islands Explorer - Nanaimo to Victoria - 5 days / 4 nights

Located along Vancouver Island's Southeast coast, the Gulf Islands are a destination not to be missed by any sea kayaker!  This is a wonderful place to watch birds; including eagles, peregrine falcons, cormorants, swallows, and pigeon guillemots.  Other trip highlights include exquisitely sculpted sandstone cliffs and visiting harbour seals and river otters.

Our 5 day tour will allow for plenty of time to explore numerous islands and still have time for relaxing at camp.  Our knowledgeable guides will provide information en route about the cultural and natural history of the Gulf Islands area.

On our first day we'll depart from Cedar-by-the-Sea, 15 minutes south of Nanaimo.  As we paddle the coast of DeCourcy and Valdes Islands we'll look out for nesting birds in the crevices of sandstone cliffs. Our first night's camp will be at Blackberry Point on the beautifully forested Valdes Island.  Day two will bring more exploration of numerous islands on the way to camp on Wallace Island.  On day three we will head along the coast of Galiano and eventually make camp on Prevost Island.  A light day of paddling on day four will bring us to Portland Island, home of the Princess Margaret Marine Park.  Finally our trip will end at Roberts Bay in Sidney, about 45 minutes north of Victoria on the Saanich Peninsula.

Day 1:  Cedar by the Sea to Blackberry Point
Day 2:  Blackberry Point to Wallace Island
Day 3:  Wallace Island to Prevost Island
Day 4:  Prevost Island to Portland Island
Day 5:  Portland Island to Roberts Bay

The Broken Group - 5 days / 4 nights

The Broken Islands archipelago is part of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve and consists of over 100 islands scattered throughout Barkley Sound.  Protected lagoons, sea caves, and rugged coast lines provide a range of paddling experiences in a beautiful setting.  Flora and fauna encountered in the area include eagles, sea lions, seals, anemones, starfish, giant cedar trees and whales.  The area is accessible only by boat making it an appealing destination to explore natural and cultural heritage of this beautiful area.

5 Days: $799/person
Skills / Experience Required: you should be comfortable with basic strokes and wet exits.

Dates:  July 1st to 5th & August 22nd to 26th



South Coast Adventure - 2 Days or 3 Days

Join us to explore Victoria's surroundings by sea kayak!  This tour departs from Island View Beach and includes 2 nights of camping on local islands.  An ideal playground for kayakers, the area presents many opportunities for viewing wildlife; including eagles, herons, deer, river otters, seals, cormorants, anemones, sea stars, and much more.  Our camping destinations en route will be D'Arcy Island and Sidney Island, home to Sidney Spit Provincial Marine Park.  Both islands offer a beautiful environment and cultural heritage worth exploring.

3 Day Tour: $395
Skills / Experience Required: you should be comfortable with basic strokes and wet exits.
Dates: June 24th to 26th, July 8th to 10th & August 5th to 7th

2 Day Tour: $275 (Sidney Island Camp)

Dates: June 25th to 26th, July 9th to 10th & August 6th to 7th



Discovery Island - 2 days / 1 night

Once home to First Nations people and lighthouse keepers, Discovery Island is now a Provincial Marine Park.  A mecca for sea kayakers, the area presents many opportunities for viewing wildlife, including eagles, river otters, harbour seals, oyster catchers, anemones, star fish, garry oaks, and much more.  The tour will also explore the nearby Chain Islets, which are protected bird sanctuaries and seal colonies.

This trip departs from Oak Bay; from there, three days of paddling will allow for plenty of time to explore Discovery and Chatham Islands and some of the smaller surrounding islands.

Portland Island - 2 days / 1 night

Portland Island is home to the Princess Margaret Marine Park and numerous species thrive there.  An ideal destination for kayakers, the area presents many opportunities for viewing wildlife, including eagles, herons, deer, river otters, seals, cormorants, anemones, star fish, and much more.  The island is also of cultural interest as it has several middens which indicate native use and are classified as archeological sites.

Our trip will depart from Robert's Bay in Sidney (just North of Victoria on the Saanich Peninsula).

Cancellations...
All tours will run rain or shine.  7 days notice is required for cancellations.  In the case of late cancellations, a partial refund may be issued at our discretion.  In the unlikely event of a lesson being cancelled due to weather or insufficient bookings, a full refund will be provided to you.
